Frequently Asked Questions
What is Integrative Psychiatry?
Think of it as care that sees the whole of you. We tend to the biological pieces (medications, hormones, etc.), as well as the inner world of feelings and patterns. We support everyday choices around food, movement, and rest, and use mind-body practices to help the nervous system settle. Your relationships and sense of purpose matter here, too. When it’s helpful, we do careful medication reviews and, when safe, reduce or simplify prescriptions. We also offer advanced options such as low-dose naltrexone (LDN) and ketamine-assisted therapy, used thoughtfully and in partnership with psychotherapy.
What is Ketamine Therapy?
Ketamine therapy uses low, controlled doses of ketamine, a medication originally developed as an anesthetic, to treat mental health conditions that have not responded to traditional treatments. It is most commonly used for:
Depression (including treatment-resistant depression)
Anxiety disorders
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Chronic pain conditions
Unlike standard antidepressants, ketamine can provide rapid relief, sometimes after just one session. It works by modulating neurotransmitters in the brain, particularly glutamate, which helps promote brain plasticity and reset neural circuits, improving mood and emotional flexibility.
How Do I Access Ketamine Therapy?
Clients who are referred by their therapist can schedule oral ketamine intakes directly with Liz Connor at Jade Psychiatry.
For those interested in IV or IM ketamine, schedule directly with Liz at the Wholeness Center.
All ketamine sessions are thoughtfully monitored to ensure safety, comfort, and a grounded emotional experience. Whenever possible, we pair treatments with integration therapy, mental health support, and lifestyle strategies to help extend the benefits long after the session ends. If you are unsure where to start please contact us.
What is psilocybin-assisted therapy?
Psilocybin-assisted therapy is a structured, professionally guided approach to working with psilocybin—a naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in certain mushrooms—to support healing, growth, and emotional clarity.
Liz offers guided psilocybin sessions through the Wholeness Center in Fort Collins, a licensed Colorado Healing Center participating in the state’s regulated natural medicine program. These sessions are designed to take place in a safe, supportive setting, with therapeutic preparation and integration to help make the experience meaningful and sustainable.
